REMI Production in Los Angeles
REMI production (Remote Integration Model) is a broadcast workflow in which cameras and microphones stay at the event venue while switching, graphics, replay, and audio mixing happen in a centralized control room connected over the internet. Procella Media runs REMI productions from our Los Angeles control room near LAX, so a small on-site crew can deliver a full multi-camera live broadcast without trucking an entire production facility to every venue.
We handle the complete chain: on-site acquisition, low-latency contribution, centralized production, and delivery to every platform your audience watches.
How our REMI workflow works
Our REMI workflow moves camera and audio signals from the venue to our Los Angeles control room over low-latency SRT, where a full production team switches, mixes, and delivers the show.
On-site cameras and audio
A compact crew sets up cameras and microphones at the venue. Blackmagic Design and AJA I/O hardware encodes each feed at the source, so the on-site footprint stays small.
Low-latency SRT contribution
Each feed travels to Los Angeles as a low-latency SRT stream. SRT's error correction keeps contribution stable over real-world internet connections, not just dedicated circuits.
Centralized LA control room
In our datacenter of M3 Ultra Mac Studios on 10 Gbps fiber with Netgear AV networking, we switch the show, run automated graphics and lower thirds, cut replays, and record up to 12 simultaneous ISO channels in ProRes 422 HQ with frame-accurate timecode.
Multi-platform delivery
The finished program goes out over RTMP and HLS to the major streaming platforms, with AI-assisted real-time captions in more than 40 languages and live data and scoring integrations where the show calls for them.
Who REMI production is for
REMI production fits any event that needs broadcast-quality, multi-camera coverage without the cost of building a full control room on site.
Sports
Game coverage with replay, live scoring integrations, and automated graphics, produced from Los Angeles while the venue crew focuses on cameras and audio.
Multi-venue events
One control room covering several sites in a day — tournament brackets, festival stages, or conference tracks — without duplicating production gear at each location.
Recurring shows
Weekly or seasonal series where a repeatable remote workflow keeps every episode consistent and setup time short.
Corporate broadcasts
Town halls, product launches, and hybrid meetings delivered to multiple platforms at once, with captions for global audiences.
Why choose a REMI workflow
The main benefits of REMI production are lower travel and logistics costs, a smaller on-site footprint, and the same senior production team on every show.
- Less equipment to ship and fewer people to fly and house, because the heavy infrastructure never leaves Los Angeles.
- A venue crew that concentrates entirely on picture and sound, while switching, graphics, and replay run from the control room.
- Control room hardware that is maintained and amortized across every production instead of being rebuilt for each event.
- Straightforward scaling to additional events or venues, since adding a show means adding contribution feeds rather than another truck.
REMI production FAQ
What does REMI stand for?
REMI stands for Remote Integration Model, a workflow also called remote integration or "at-home" production. The name refers to integrating remote venue feeds into a centralized production control room instead of producing the show entirely on site.
How much latency does REMI add?
SRT contribution adds a small, consistent delay that we tune for each production, and it is low enough for live switching, replay, and real-time graphics. For streamed events the added delay is not noticeable to viewers, because it is minor compared to the buffering already built into streaming platforms.
Can REMI work outside Los Angeles?
Yes. We staff on-site crews across Los Angeles and Southern California, and venues anywhere in the United States can connect to our Los Angeles control room over SRT. The workflow is the same whether the event is across town or across the country.
